We (commercial dog school in Austria) have been using Kutego (courses, appointments, finances) for exactly 50 days today and I would like to express my great appreciation to your team, except for a few small things. I originally come from the management of a very large corporation and would describe your software as the SAP among the possible SaaS for our purpose. My respect!
I would also like to add that the part of my negative criticism in many areas is really complaining on a high level, because with the possibilities that Kutego offers, the requirements really came.
Course module:
+ Courses are easy to create and present
+ Courses are easy to integrate via iFrame in external CMS (in our case in typo3) and to make available for a booking
+ info agent
+ documents dispatch
+ Possibility of messages to the course groups
+ confirmation of participation
+/- Member management
- If you need a course planning software, you won't find it in Kutego (not really an issue for us at the moment, therefore irrelevant for us), although some useful approaches are definitely available
- I would like to see more possibilities for our permanent courses (e.g. contracts with the possibility of cross-booking without having to make up for lost time).
Appointment module:
+ single dates in principle likewise simply to provide
+ Appointments are easy to integrate via iFrame in external CMS (in our case in typo3) and to make available for a booking
- Presentation of appointments on the website difficult to understand and unclear
- Booking options on customer side unclear
Finance:
+ If all processes are well set up and a few minor deficiencies are fixed, all you need to do - assuming satisfactory business - is count your money ;-)
+ I can therefore not confirm the comments of another reviewer, because our normal business process is de facto fully automated.
+ Payment reminders and dunning letters fully automatic
- Despite repeated urging, areas of invoice correction still do not work properly
- If you cancel an invoice and create a new one, as a Kutego customer you are also charged for the cancelled invoice
- Integration only possible with SevDesk accounting, although SevDesk basically offers a good approach, it is absolutely unusable, at least for Austria. If I can't even create the values for a correct advance VAT return with an accounting system, then my harsh verdict on SevDesk in this respect is perhaps understandable. In order to be able to transfer the invoices to my accounting in a reasonably automated way, the available csv export is unfortunately unsuitable, because it accesses the wrong data for Austrian needs.
- Some text parts in emails are not changeable for us as Kutego customers (e.g. we address our customers in the form of Du, which Kutego does not allow in some areas.
Manual:
- Personally, I also find the manual somewhat lacking; of course, I understand that documentation is almost never a favorite activity. However, I believe that if more time was spent on it, and it was set up as smartly as the software itself, that some user questions would not be necessary, and thus would be a potential streamlining for Kutego itself.
- As a supplement, I would like to note that the Kutego online manual is considered potentially dangerous by Norton. I find that quite unseemly.
Business hours:
- While I see that both Miriam and programmers are definitely active at nighttime hours at times, I'm only going into the website support hours here because I suspect that many Kutego users are active on weekends as well. I haven't had any major outages so far, but my personal concern would be that something unpredictable happens on Friday evening and then no one is available for 2.5 days to fix the error.
Real small things that would be technically easy to implement, to which I get as an answer that it is technically not possible:
- As an example, I would like to mention the overview of the most viewed courses or dates in the dashboard of the finance module, which cannot be manually set to zero and thus, unfortunately, has absolutely no meaning after some time with changing offers. I find this a pity, because it could provide a wonderful insight.
A better answer than technically not possible (which is almost unthinkable with probably relational databases in the background for my previous wishes) I would find. Customization costs xx Euro or customization provided in the standard for MM/YYYY.
technical support
+ normally and for the part included in the price very good
+ and also reasonably fast
I haven't used the paid VIP support yet and therefore I can't judge it yet.
I could give many more positive details and I don't know if you can add your entry here on this platform in the course of time or just write a new one. If possible, I will be happy to do so.
Finally I would like to state again that my negative points are really whining on a high level and I can highly recommend Kutego for my application and I would like to compare my representations with the psychology of buying a new car: If you previously drove an old piece of junk and now afford a new car and unfortunately discover a small scratch on it, then this often becomes emotionally huge, but purely factually a mini-detail on the sidelines.
