Die Contreras ist gestern angekommen und alles ist in sehr gutem Zustand. Die Gitarre war sicher in ihrem Koffer und in einem Karton verpackt – sie hat die Reise bestens überstanden.

Mein erster Eindruck war, dass dies eine großartige Gitarre aus der etwas alten Schule des traditionellen Instrumentenbaus ist. Ich habe sie mit den alten Saiten gestimmt und sie mit meiner Lietz verglichen. Dabei stellte ich fest, dass die Lietz klarer und transparenter klang, während die Contreras eine eher „mysteriöse“ Qualität hatte. Beide Gitarren sind fantastisch, aber sehr unterschiedlich. Den Tag habe ich damit beendet, die Saiten der Contreras zu wechseln.

Die Transformation am Morgen war enorm. Ich konnte meinen Ohren kaum trauen – die Gitarre hatte immer noch ihren „mysteriösen“ Charakter, aber ihre Kraft war außergewöhnlich gewachsen. Die Bässe waren viel stärker und tiefer, während die Höhen mit einer Sustain klangen, die ich bei einer klassischen Gitarre noch nie gehört habe. Selbst in einem trockenen Raum klingt der Doppelboden erstaunlich und vermittelt mir das Gefühl, in einer Kirche zu spielen. Die Power ist gewaltig, ohne dabei den typischen „Madrid“-Klang zu opfern. Das Setup, das Sie vorgenommen haben, war perfekt – vielen Dank dafür.

Ohne Zweifel ist dies die Gitarre meines Lebens. Jetzt freue ich mich auf die hunderten Stunden des Übens, um meine Technik an das etwas breitere Griffbrett anzupassen, bevor ich im März auf Tour gehe.

A year ago, I visited Michelstadt and Vintage Guitar World with the intention of purchasing a 1982 Faustino Conde. Heiko was incredibly friendly and professional, having prepared seven beautiful guitars for me to try over several hours. I left with an amazing Faustino Conde guitar and fond memories of my time in the charming town of Michelstadt.

Este Gerundino Fernández suena como un piano!!! Mi humilde opinion es que Gerundino Fernandez el y su padre que en paz descanse, son unos genios, ese sonido es único, es muy dificil reproducir eso hoy en dia y aunque no he tocado ninguna de su hijo, tuve unos años una muy cerca de un amigo y yo soñaba con esa guitarra, si algun dia puedo sin duda me compraré una, es mi opinión segun mi experiencia, Reyes y Gerundino, ni una he visto regular, todas cañonazos, sonido Andaluz y tradición...mis respetos ante tan gran artesano de corazon. 💕
