I booked the via ferrata beginners course with Ralf and it was a great experience. Ralf is an excellent, enthusiastic and friendly mountain guide with years of experience who managed to completely overcome my initial concerns. You feel very well looked after and not only learn how to move safely on the via ferrata, but also gain extremely useful knowledge from the many mountain anecdotes. It was a great day and I can recommend the course to anyone who has never conquered a via ferrata before.

Tujia really knows what climbing is all about and gave great tips, especially if you're a complete beginner like me. The small group also makes it manageable. I'd love to go again!

Tuija guided us safely and confidently through the via ferrata. She showed and explained everything to us in great detail with regard to belaying and behavior. It was a lot of fun. I can highly recommend Tuija as a very competent trainer.

The climb was demanding and challenging. As we usually hike in the Allgäu and Sauerland, this climb was something very special for us. In my opinion, a small minus point would be that we didn't have enough time to take a look at the surroundings in peace. The group moved very quickly. At certain points, something was explained that was very interesting and we stopped for a moment. It was a successful climb! I would have liked half an hour longer so that everyone in the group could be closer to each other throughout, even with different fitness levels, and there would have been time to take in the beautiful surroundings for a few more minutes.

Unfortunately, the promised bottle of Riesling ended up being a bottle of Rivaner, which is a shame for the famous Riesling region.

Everything was well explained and we felt we were in good hands. And Ralf also had good tips outside of climbing, e.g. for beautiful hiking routes 🙂

It was a great guide who explained everything very well and clearly. He also led the group very confidently through the climb.

The contact with Ralf for the planning, as well as the organization and execution of the event were to my complete satisfaction. Ralf provided good and goal-oriented information, was present everywhere on site, approachable and friendly.

The procedure was carried out as agreed in advance and thus also met our expectations.

Why the critical review?

In most cases, you can only judge the pricing of an event once you have experienced it. If you take a closer look at the pricing of the event partners involved, I find the costing to be overpriced in retrospect.

The organizer has enough of the per capita flat rate for his own expenses: 5 hours on site, organizing snacks, arrival + departure, as well as the effort for the organization with the partners, I would still classify these costs as acceptable.

What I can no longer understand with such a margin, however, is a not insignificant additional lump sum.
In my opinion, the event is not complicated to organize and, apart from the snack, can be set up without an event provider with just a few phone calls.

I had really expected a lot more from the meal at the winegrower's beforehand. In the end, it was a "normal" meal - which was well prepared and served - in a wine bar. For the price, I would have assumed that they would not just put 3 bottles of the house Riesling on the table.
The offer mentioned wine tasting as well as wines to accompany the meal, so it was not entirely clear in advance what we could expect.

It would have been nice if the winegrower had presented 4-5 Moselle wines. Unfortunately, bottles of water were not included in the price and had to be paid for separately.

In addition, there are very unfavorable cancellation conditions for company events. With larger groups, there are always cancellations at short notice and it is difficult to plan the number of people precisely. The event partners have little loss due to 1-2 people more / less, so that I consider the 14-day lead time to charge 80% of the price in the event of cancellations to be very disadvantageous for the contractor.

Conclusion: Communication, organization and execution were carried out professionally and smoothly. The finale at the winegrower's was rather disappointing in terms of content and the event as a whole was ultimately overpriced for us. The costs and terms and conditions were of course communicated transparently and known in advance. However, as mentioned at the beginning, events can only be properly assessed retrospectively.

This was my first climbing experience, but not my last!!!

It was our first via ferrata adventure and we really enjoyed it. Our guide Patrick explained the equipment and technique well and made us feel safe. It was a fun trip with a friendly guide. We have acquired a taste for it and will definitely climb a via ferrata again :)

Tunija ran the beginners' course in a super relaxed, friendly and highly professional manner. Although I'm a bit scared of heights, she managed to make the tour fun and stress-free. Thank you very much!
