The small group size allows each participant to really delve into the material. There was an incredible amount of input and excellent guidance. The summary review also serves as a refresher, helping participants stay on track at home. The passion for rhythm and beat really comes through! I’ve had an exhausting yet fulfilling weekend. After my amazing experience with Jochen in 2025, it was immediately clear to me: This year, I absolutely had to do two full days of one-on-one coaching!

And what can I say? It was absolutely the right decision.
Even between coaching sessions, Jochen advised me on choosing my new drum set and the right cymbals—and that alone was worth its weight in gold. During the coaching sessions themselves, we really got down to business:

Day 1: Sound development for the new set & perfect ergonomics
Day 2: Hand technique, fill concepts, independence & coordination

In short: My brain was on fire, and so were my hands… but the result is simply fantastic! 😄

Jochen takes an incredible amount of time, explains everything in a super clear way, and manages to break down even complex topics so that you immediately take away a ton of knowledge. Technically top-notch, of course—but above all, the coaching is just a blast.

I think the course is worth the price—it’s a good deal.
In any case, I’m getting a lot out of the sheets, which are produced with absolute professionalism. My initial thought that I could just play something like this off the cuff was completely off the mark, because I had to work through every single sheet and learned a lot in the process. You can tell that Jochen Weigand is a drum instructor and put a lot of thought into creating these.
And playing with a professional bassist like Stefan Hergenröder is fun anyway!

Jochen's workshop in December 2025 exceeded my expectations (as a repeat participant). I learned a lot of new things that I can apply immediately. The practical exercises were particularly helpful in internalizing the theory and practice. The techniques are easy to understand and can be easily implemented in everyday practice.
Jochen clearly conveyed the content at every level of the participants and involved everyone well.
The atmosphere was great, and the group size was perfect. (Really cool group!!) I was impressed by the creative approach, which opened up new perspectives for me. I am glad to have been able to take advantage of this opportunity. It has left me wanting more. The high quality and practical benefits make the workshop highly recommendable. I took part in a drum camp for the first time as a beginner. I found the different skill levels of the participants motivating and beneficial to the learning process.
It was a great experience! I would definitely recommend it.

A very well planned and executed drum seminar.
A very positive atmosphere throughout the weekend.
A lot of knowledge was imparted. You don't have to make any mistakes yourself and are shown how to do it properly in detail.
A lot of love for playing the drums. You can see that in the seminar.
The location is also something special.
The seminar is an absolute recommendation for beginners and advanced players.

Just back from Drumcamp Dec 2025. The fact that Jochen is a mega drummer is one thing. Much more important is that he can convey learning like hardly anyone else. He doesn't rely on a narrow approach to learning, but explains approaches that can take you further based on his experience. Concepts are presented to improve individual aspects (timing, independence...) without losing sight of the result: how does the whole thing sound and where do I want to go, what do I want to achieve? Above all, his way of dealing with people is what makes the difference. The whole setting, venue, organization, etc. is also flawless. The exchange with the group was totally relaxed and inspiring. Simply great cinema and I'm already looking forward to the next camp!

The location is great. The old monastery has a special atmosphere and the accommodation is good, the food really tasty and plentiful. It would almost be like a vacation if....
...if it wasn't for Jochen ;-)

There are so many new things. So many construction sites that you discover thanks to his attentive observations. The level is irrelevant. If you're not a professional yourself, you can definitely learn a lot. Especially for me as a self-taught photographer, it was enormously helpful to find the little mistakes that have crept in and to be shown a way to work on them.
In Jochen, you have a lecturer who has certainly prepared a tight program, but that's actually why we came.
Despite this, he always finds time to respond to each participant individually and never comes across as being down on them, but always at eye level and with great appreciation. After a short time, you get the feeling that you've known each other forever.
No airs and graces, although Jochen's musical and teaching skills would even justify this. But instead you meet a totally down-to-earth and grounded person who imparts his knowledge in a very likeable way and is noticeably committed to getting the best out of the weekend for every participant. Jochen is a person who is clearly passionate about what he does, and so it is easy for him to infect and ignite others.

It was also great to see how the strangers quickly formed into a group that supported each other and worked together towards a common goal. The group dynamic was really great and many thanks to all the participants who contributed to the fact that I really enjoyed this weekend.

I would like to say a big thank you to you, Jochen. I took home more construction sites than I wanted to, but that's what it's all about. The development.
Being able to conjure up things tomorrow that were unthinkable yesterday. Thank you for helping me a lot with this. I wish you all a peaceful and blessed Christmas. And stay tuned.

Jochen Weigand delivers what he promises in his drum camp description. Whether age, level, teaching experience, self-taught with no knowledge of sheet music, or having an acoustic or electric drum set at home, it really doesn't matter. His concept is fully and professionally prepared right from the start, so that every participant can profitably benefit from it in order to make progress. Both in the workshop and afterwards, you receive lots of handouts on the topics covered. There is also plenty of fun to be had playing games and within the group. And at the end, no question remains unanswered.
These workshops can be recommended without reservation.

And on the side you get a first-class motivational shake.

My personal opinion is that there is no better way to put it across. I can recommend every beginner and
advanced drummers to attend this course. I've only been back home for two days and am thinking about
to register again next year. Stefan the bass man was also a very successful and super guy.

In 37 years of self-taught drumming, I have always looked for a suitable workshop where you can broaden your horizons without knowing sheet music and receive really helpful information and advice on how to improve technically. Unfortunately without success, as there were always some prerequisites that made participation impossible.
But now, what can I say. I'm glad I found out about Jochen on the Internet and the Allround Drum Camp really hit the nail on the head!
- From the registration to the follow-up of the workshop by email, everything was very professionally organized.
- An absolutely charismatic, down-to-earth instructor who works at eye level. You get the feeling that you've been friends with him for a long time.
- Every second of the workshop is worth the money, interesting and profitable for knowledge and action.
- The focus is always on having fun.
- Everything is easy to understand and every question that arises is clarified in detail.
- The venue is perfectly chosen in all respects and additionally supports the well-being.
- And yes, it really is for all levels. Everyone is recognized and motivated.

Conclusion: An absolute recommendation! I would love to come back.

Jochen is a very nice person who has an answer for every problem on the beat. He always manages to turn 10 people who don't know each other into a group that helps each other. That alone is worth the camp, but you also learn a lot from Jochen, who responds individually to each person depending on their level, but at the same time makes sure that the rest of the group doesn't get bored. The "Drummer Talk" at the end of the day is very nice, there is a discussion about the exercises, equipment and experience or someone tells a funny story from their "drummer life". These evenings are important to get to know each other. That's how you make new friends.
I will definitely book another camp with Jochen to improve my drumming. By the way, the location Bavarian Music Academy Hammelburg is great.

Top guy, top course! I learned a lot and came home highly motivated. Even the days afterwards you still have so much going through your head and you go to the drum set at home in a great mood.
I can definitely recommend the course and would also attend a special topic again myself.

Jochen's approach, his feeling for each individual participant in the drum camp is extraordinary!
His ability to pass on the "small" adjustments in drumming (finger technique, foot technique, or groupings) to the participants is also at the highest level!
Even when the group had big ??? over their heads, his understanding nature gave them further tips on how to use the exercises as added value for themselves!

I am also very impressed by his motivating and inspiring manner!
Jochen was able to give something to every level and tease something out of the participants on the practice pad or the drumset!
Even if he sometimes took things for granted and recognized them, there was still a way in the right direction that all participants understood!
Jochen also took up (and didn't forget) the topics that were noted by participants but were only dealt with at a later stage.

The camp gave me a lot of motivation and showed me a way to get back to the next level after a long break from playing drums!
The location was also very suitable for the event, very friendly staff and delicious food.
Absolute recommendation from me for the Drum Camp!

I attended the Drumcmp at Schloss Milkel in July and have to say that my expectations were far exceeded:
Jochen had worked out a detailed practice plan for the days in advance, which he adapted dynamically to the needs of the participants during the course of the camp.
His relaxed yet competent manner quickly created a familiar atmosphere among the participants, which contributed significantly to the success of the camp.
Although planned as a group event, there was still enough time for Jochen to respond individually to each participant.
My conclusion: if you need a really good drum teacher, don't look around too long - you certainly can't go wrong with Jochen!

Jochen Weigand is a competent, experienced and very open, approachable drum teacher and musician. His preparation and execution is absolutely professional with good analysis and support.
