I was at the Drum Camp in August 2024. Fantastic location and a very friendly group of 10 participants with different levels of ability. But not only was that not a problem, on the contrary, I found this heterogeneity to be an advantage for all participants. Jochen picked up and coached everyone at their own level. As always, he did this competently and in his grounded, friendly manner.
The exercises were all well thought out and followed a concept. For me, it wasn't important that I learned A LOT, but that I learned the RIGHT way. Individual wishes were addressed in advance and dealt with in full.
These camps always take me a step forward, and being accompanied by Stefan Hergenröder on bass is just awesome.
This was definitely not my last camp.

I've already been there twice. I've already signed up for 2 more DrumCamps in 2025! Jochen does a really great job! He is a very likeable, empathetic and cool dude. Regardless of whether you are a beginner or an advanced player - he is able to pick up EVERYONE. Of course, a new drummer might be overwhelmed. An experienced drummer might get bored. But who defines starting and progressing? Experiencing people who are actually complete strangers, but who tick and click in the same way, is exactly what you can draw on for a long time after a weekend like this. And last but not least, you go home with concrete goals for individual improvement. An absolute recommendation! Great location, great food, great coach. ((Note the order :-) in our affluent society^^.)

Hey Nadine, thank you so much for your great review! 😜 I also think that the group dynamic and the togetherness (regardless of level) are really important. Exchanging ideas with people who finally understand you and share the same passion. Everyone in their own way and where they stand - but at eye level and in a relaxed atmosphere. I also simply love the music academy and always enjoy going there. I also think that a beginner takes away completely different things than a more advanced student, for example. Fortunately, up to now, they have always complemented each other very well and everyone has been able to find good starting points and new ideas. It remains exciting - thank you for being there! 👍🏼

I attended Jochen Weigand's drum camp on the subject of timing in Hammelburg in July 2024. Rarely have I attended such a well-organized, structured and professionally run event as the Drum Camp - and not just in the area of music events, but across all events in general, of which I have attended one or two over the years.

Jochen provided all the necessary information in advance by e-mail and responded to questions in a very timely, friendly and detailed manner. The camp itself takes place in fantastic surroundings and professional facilities.

You can tell that Jochen has a lot of experience both in running camps and as a teacher - and is of course a great drummer. It was always clear what was going to happen next and when, there was a lot of work on the program but you never felt rushed, individual questions and problems were dealt with in detail so that everyone really got their money's worth and was able to take away something new.

It was also great to have a friend of mine, bassist Stefan, who added another very practical component to the whole thing. Both trainers exuded a lot of positive energy and fun and you can tell that they really want to help the participants progress. I can fully recommend the drum camp with Jochen. Thank you very much!

Drum Camp 05-2024
It was a great drum camp. The location was great and Jochen managed to turn 11 people into a unit that supports, motivates and helps each other. Partying together also worked right away. I immediately signed up for the next drum camp. Jochen teaches you in such a playful way that you only realize later how much you have learned and how far you have come. Jochen is very friendly and always answers every question in his calm manner until everyone has understood. Jochen doesn't just cram through the course, there's enough time for everyone to play, ask questions and so Jochen manages to turn 11 drummers of different levels into a unit. During these 3 days you have the feeling that we go through thick and thin no matter what happens. Because you feel like you're in good hands in the group. We are all not perfect, that's why we take part in the drum camps, we all want to get better at our hobby and Jochen's drum camps are the best opportunity to do so.

Finally light in the jungle of exercises! The "Pad Essentials" are a great guide for me through the confusing mass of exercises on the Practice Pad. Each exercise is accompanied by an explanation of what should be taken into account and, above all, what the purpose of the exercise is. I have never read anything like this in a book of this kind. I thought carefully about my consistent 5-star rating in the individual sub-items and didn't just click on them. I am enthusiastic about the "Drum Video Coach" and the "Pad Essentials". That's all I need.

My questions and those of the other participants were explained very well and also integrated into the overall topic. Everything was well structured from start to finish, with plenty of room for questions... As there was a lot of technique involved (hand/foot), it was possible to try out and understand all the exercises but not go into them in depth. It was ideal for me to get a broad overview and to pick out what I need at home. I received a lot of information, sound examples, tips on videos, practice tips, book recommendations, sheet music and much more. The atmosphere was very friendly and no matter what level everyone was at, he/she was so accepted and welcome. Everyone was able to develop according to their level
Thank you Jochen, for your very nice and empathetic manner. There was also plenty of laughter and humor. The intensity and quality was very high. For me it was a brilliant weekend with lots of input and motivation.

I took part in the 12/2023 technical camp. As I already knew Jochen Weigand from his YouTube channel and his website and was very impressed by his concept, I thought I'd join him for a drum camp. I have to say, my expectations were exceeded. Jochen is a very nice person and has an incredible feel for the different needs of his camp participants. On the very first day, he picked up all the campers, regardless of their level. From beginner to advanced, everyone was catered for and everyone was able to take something away with them. And the most important thing, apart from learning... Everyone had fun. I will certainly attend another camp and can only recommend it to everyone else out there.

Drum Camp 12/2023 Theme technique - no 08/15!
My first drum camp.
The journey from Berlin is really long. But it was worth it.
I experienced a drum camp at a very high level, but usable for all levels and clearly explained. You should have a certain basic understanding. It's definitely not for people who only want to play hits! :)
All the knowledge and years of practical professional experience of an ambitious professional have been incorporated here. A camp, organized down to the smallest detail, with heart and soul and fun! You take away a lot of input, tricky stuff. All questions were answered. You have to process that first. Then later you can practise and apply it and be amazed :). Everything was very specially selected. It is very difficult to find such a compilation in the usual books or other media.
In the evening there was a cozy get-together with all the participants.
I would attend a seminar like this again at any time, with different learning content.
I wish you continued great success!

Jochen is authentic, grounded and doesn't claim to be the super drummer. His videos are clear. No frills.
It would be nice if Jochen could publish a drum book in which the drum groove is structured like e.g.
Rossana Shuffle first the HiHat figure, then Snare, then Bassdrum...... that would be cool and would help with some tricky beats.

Camp 08-2023:
Top workshop, top speaker, clear, well-structured process, great support from registration to follow-up, transparent structure and organization at all times, Jochen Weigand is not a dazzler, not a poser but a doer. A full professional. He is able to impart his extensive know-how to participants with a wide range of previous knowledge. Gives appropriate instructions and practice recommendations. Workshop is, as the title promises, suitable for everyone. Both beginners and professionals can take away enough content, combined with a lot of fun. Individual needs are catered for so that the other participants also benefit. The location is perfect, clean, good food and a nice big rehearsal room. It was great fun to learn new things, to get to know Jochen as a coach and person and other drummers. I will come again, thank you Jochen Weigand!
PS: The sessions with Stefan Hergenröder are among the many highlights, great bass player, musician and person!
