Your words show me that even very gentle, benevolent, empathic support at eye level in a safe space with a person-centered attitude supports the potential for change that is inherent in all of us in its release.
... that sustainable support in crises can be based on presence and mindfulness in dealing with oneself and others
.... that impulses to change one's own attitude can also unfold their effectiveness in the shortest possible time
... that we can make new decisions in each situation according to our currently available capacities.
(theoretically) we can decide anew between being right or being happy.
We can allow our thoughts, actions and feelings to be guided by our judgments and thinking in terms of right or wrong, etc., with the result that something divisive arises between us within ourselves or between us and other people. And we can also decide, based on what we really want inside, to orient our lives towards our needs and to fulfill them in such a way that they can enliven our relationships instead of limiting ourselves.
Of course, these are "just principles", of course we don't always experience this theoretical freedom. But every time we have managed to decide to act more consciously and to be guided by our inner compass, and we notice a change, that is a reason to celebrate, because the path is the goal and we have set out on it inwardly, and even if we stray again and again, we can always get back on the path, and that alone counts.
